Caring for your ring
A little care goes a long way. Here's how to look after the materials in this ring so it keeps looking its best.
Tungsten carbide
- Tungsten carbide is very hard, so it resists most everyday scratches. That hardness also makes it brittle: a hard knock or a drop onto tiles or stone can crack it, so take care around hard surfaces.
- Black, gunmetal and other coloured finishes are plated onto the surface and can slowly wear where the ring rubs most. Avoid abrasive cleaners, polishing compounds and harsh chemicals such as bleach.
Swedish meteorite inlay
- The meteorite in this ring is set in resin, which seals it and helps protect it from moisture. That makes it lower-maintenance than exposed meteorite, but the resin needs a little care.
- Resin is softer than the metal around it, so hard knocks or rubbing against rough surfaces can scratch or chip it. Take your ring off for the gym, DIY and other hands-on work.
- Keep it away from harsh chemicals and solvents such as bleach and nail polish remover, and avoid very high heat, which can soften or cloud resin. Don't use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
- If you ever notice a chip or crack in the resin, get in touch with us.
Cleaning & everyday care
Cleaning: use warm water with a drop of mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth, with a soft toothbrush for grooves and edges. Rinse, then dry thoroughly.
- Swap to the silicone ring included with your order for the gym, sport and hands-on work.
- Store your ring in its box, away from other jewellery, so nothing rubs or scratches it.
- Put on hand cream, sunscreen and perfume before your ring, and let them dry first.
